| Project Summary |

| Digital Edge was established in 1998 and is a distributor of music software and hardware products with a national dealer base and worldwide vendor base. DED needed to step up to a world class web presence and rework its business identity, including the development of collateral materials and development of a new company logo.
The principle design directive was to incorporate DED's geographical location, San Francisco, into the site design. This was to be a major component of the site's imagery. The solution was to create a pool of photographs from around the city that would be presented on the home page and displayed on a rotating basis. |

| The images are edited, treated, and aligned with date stamps as to allow correlations with seasonal changes, holidays, and special events. The result is homepage imagery that captures the rich flavor of SF's districts, changes bi-weekly and conforms to the design palette of the site.
To further the SF orientation of the site, an entertainment page was added showing SF's districts with an external link to a popular local website that lists much of the local arts, theatre, dance, and music goings on about town. Perfect for the visiting dealer or out-of-towner. Other background design elements were based on music studio imagery. Humorous and somewhat cynical music industry related text quotes were sprinkled throughout the site. |

| An easy to use search engine powers the vendor and product page for fast product info and a custom content management system makes it easy for DED personnel to update the site.
